These are Italian uniforms, and there are wonderfully unique ones I had never seen before. An example being the Italian Coast Guard Artillery. Brilliant find, Armand. |

The Italian Artillerie Garde Cotes is also available in Napoleonic Uniforms, Volume III by John Elting and Herbert Knotel, page 226. The troops of the Republic/Kingdom of Italy are covered quite well on pages 197-252 of that volume. Highly recommended. |

Yes 'Italian uniforms' should have been in the title. Been using that site and like a lot of amateur historians it has many holes left to fll, tho indices suggest otherwise. Take care, |

Kevin, I read your tribute to John Elting in a magazine, I believe it was Military Illustrated? It was very well done. I have the 4 volume set on Napoleonic Uniforms, and I agree they are highly recommended. Thankfully, I bought them when they were first published, as the secondary market prices are rather steep.
