With this battle report I returned to the roots of my Napoleonic wargaming and a staple of period sccenarios: Plancenoit. I also share some thoughts about the rules. If you have opinions about Bataille Empire I would like to hear them.

I got the rules but have yet to try them. I have read through them.

My group plays Shako 2 a lot. A much simpler ruleset that games at the same command level, but with seasoned players, things can get gamey. Hence my interest in Bataille Empire.

Bataille Empire, however, is too detailed for running the large games Shako can run.
