I took a little road trip and visited the National Museum of the United States Air Force, a truly premiere museum (and completely free!) I have begun posting the photos I took while there. First up, The Early Years of Military Aviation link

I live only a few miles from there. Well worth the visit.

Great place to visit! We would go there several times a year pre-covid. Can't wait to get back.

Thanks.

Have not been there in 20 years but loved it – plan on going back once we can travel again

If you haven't been there in 20 years…it's vastly improved and enlarged….

Nice to see that they constructed the buildings to look like old-style "quonset" hangers.

Was there several years ago, great museum. Takes hours to see most of it. Very worthwhile but need a "wife area" so my lovely wife can do sudoku puzzles while I get eyefuls! LOL

Was the Alien/Flying saucer exhibit open yet?

The SAC museum in Nebraska is also very nice. But then you are in Nebraska.

Shagnasty, no aliens yet……. but some of the stuff in the R&D section could be a close match

ZULUPAUL, There are two cafes; prices are pretty steep and the food is just OK. Greater Dayton is literally surrounding the place so shopping might be an option (is your missus is so inclined), the grounds are nice if the weather permits.

I was like a kid in a candy store. Literally took my breath away at times.
