stonewallfigures.co.uk sells painted 18mm Napoleonic battalions of all the major armies. i ordered 6 units of 24 figures each and they were posted out a month later.

The figures are perfectly fine for the massed Napoleonic battlefield. Scottish troops even have tartan! The figures may not be as high a quality as AB figures for for mass battles when you have dozen's of units I find them a great service.

There is a lot of flash on the underside of base that needs to be filed off and the figures are not washed or highlighted. I did my own basic wash and then put them on bases myself. For someone who is hard of seeing and unable to paint my own figures, this service and figures are a god send.

Examples of the figures can be found on my blog at:

Very effective en masse, but highlanders as elites?

I need an easy way to differentiate between average/drilled troops from superior/drilled troops. The army started based on the battle of Fuentes de Oņoro where the Highlander battalion helped win the battle.

Also I can get superior/veteran troops but I don't know of a better way to differentiate them. There is also superior/veteran/guard, but I can use guard figures for that. Stonewall sells them too.

I would expect the figures to be cleaned of flash before they were painted.

Comstar,
Sorry to read about your medical problems. At least you can manage gaming so have the interest to pursue.

I agree the figures look good and if you are happy with them, even better.
Don't be too hard on youself about winning games- personally I gave up 'competition' gaming many decades ago; they get you down when opponents play the rules to the hilt, rather than the period, in which I prefer more historically referenced form.

The flash is ONLY on the underside of the base, the figure itself is fully painted and has no flash I can see. So it's not hard to remove – I used a normal file to grind it off. It's just a bit time consuming, but this is still far faster and better painted than I can do.

The finished product looks very fine!

Received my first 'trial' order of Nap French recently. The flash under the stand was easy to file off. Good paint for the price. I also order from GAJO whose painting is a bit better. The only thing I didn't care for was they sent the order in a mailer :/

+1 for these figures

I also use them when I need units on the hurry up. Bit of highlighting for me and they're done
