Thanks, Armand. Reading this post led me to read Cushing's biography on Wikipedia. He led a fascinating life, and through his films, played an active part in the lives of many of us.

Of all his marvelous performances, I enjoyed his portrayal of Grand Moff Tarkin in the original Star Wars the most. I was thrilled when the producers reprised his role many years later via CGI / clever impersonation in a later Star Wars sequel.
