Thanks, Armand. Reading this post led me to read Cushing's biography on Wikipedia. He led a fascinating life, and through his films, played an active part in the lives of many of us.

I've seen the short video of his painting and gaming. It is very cool to find I shared a hobby with an actor I much admired.

Of all his marvelous performances, I enjoyed his portrayal of Grand Moff Tarkin in the original Star Wars the most. I was thrilled when the producers reprised his role many years later via CGI / clever impersonation in a later Star Wars sequel.
