Another naval fight in our ongoing Thirty Years War campaign, in this the Freedonians (fresh from a refit) catch the pirates unawares and try to trap the scoundrels against the shore link

Very cool!

Cool stuff--whole site, not just this latest Freedonian- Freebooter kerfuffle. I am kinda toying with the notion of putting together some sort of 15mm renaissance epoch force ( exactly what nation or conflict might depend on potential opponents in my area once the current plague subsides) so your minis are inspirational.

Pocho Azul,
Most of my minis are from the ancient Minifigs ECW/TYW range from the early 1980's Some of my newer units are from Khurusan's extensive selection (a source that I intend to revisit soon!). Conflict was endemic so you have plenty of choice!

The boats are from Zvezda's lovely (but now very expensive!) range

Woah, yeah, Zvezda's are a bit pricy, but nice. I was really jazzed about Totentanz's figures, but it seems that the whole enterprise has stalled for the last few years due to the owner's ongoing health issues.

Khurusan definitely has a lot of eyeball pleasers. Blue Moon/Old Glory also has some good 'uns.

Tercios are freaking gorgeous, if I wanted to go 28mm. They are also kinda unusual in that they seem to do a lot of figures with the Dutch Wars specifically in mind. Based on a bit of very superficial poking around, that conflict doesn't seem to get as much attention as some other from the same time period.

Going to wait to see what other people are doing locally before I commit to anything (just moved to a different state). Meanwhile I am collecting bookmarks to sites like yours.

Pocho Azul,
I was lucky enough to lay hands on my Zvezda kits when they were first coming into the country, a half to a third less than the current prices. If I was starting out today I would probably have to go with 1/1200 scale metal&resin models to afford it.
