Other than Battle Honors, does anyone else make French Generals for the Revolutionary War period? The BH figures seem ok, but I'd like to avoid having to order 12 or so of them. Similarly, I'd like to avoid the cost of shipping from the UK. Thanks |

Yes, French Revolutionary Generals and Officers are in my plans on this year. Partially already commissioned by von Winterfeldt. But I will sculpt these to fit with my new horses, which are WIP. |

Apart from BH, Minifig and Magister Militum in the UK. I don't know any other makes. Glad to hear Sho has them planned for 2021. |

>>does anyone else make French Generals for the Revolutionary War period? As I've had to do for my 25mm, Austrian generals and ADC in bicorne both make excellent French officers of the early Empire period- so will fit just fine with REvolution. Change the shape or remove the falling feather plumes (or simply paint tricoleur); add some epaulettes (since Austrians didnt wear them) as appropriate; some ADCS you may need to shave off or file down the waist sashes; again make them tricoleur not gold for some). Reshape a bicorne- strong needle nose pliers and 'squash' the two sides gently together- I usually use a piece of 'serge' woolen material to protect from marking the models. Such as (these are both Austrians moulds, you can probably tell):-

Hmm, not really. In my opinion, those guys don't fit very well for Revolution French generals, especially if one want to build an early version of the Republican Army. The collar and lapels are not good at all. You probably have to add hair with greenstuff too. Short hair are not fashionable before 18 |

To Each to his own; I'm not worried, they're in second or campaign dress not full dress, hair I could care even less about. It was just a suggestion to help someone. |

I agree with Franck – their outlook is pretty much Empire and don't look Revolutionary French at all, just painting differently won't do in my view, I care a lot about hair, it makes quite a difference, so queues are in demand. In short we need miniatures of French Revolutionary Generals. |
