"Many Native American tribes fought in the Revolutionary War. The majority of these tribes fought for the British but a few fought for the Americans. Many of these tribes tried to remain neutral in the early phase of the war but when some of them came under attack by American militia, they decided to join the British. Other tribes joined the British in the hopes that if the British won, they would put a stop to colonial expansion in the west, as they had done with the Royal Proclamation of 1763…" Origin link Amicalement Armand |

Thank you. I might try an AWI game with Native Americans on both sides, but with more on the British side. |

Stockbridge Indians in Massachusetts were in the 8th Massachusetts Regiment. They fought at Saratoga. On the British side, there were an ever dwindling number of scouts, etc. There is that mysterious unit of "Loyalists, Indians, Canadians and Scouts" that appear in some scenarios for Freeman's Farm. I don't know if they faced each other. There is always the "enemies of my enemy" factor to consider also. |
