Anybody know of any 1/72 French Troupes de Marine or Senegalese Tirailluers in metal.A little on the large size (about 22mm).I have Redbox French Marines in plastic but they are a little small.I really don't care for plastic anyway. Mark |

I think Stan Johansen Miniatures might fit the bill for you for the Troupes de Marine. They can be found in the Boxer Rebellion line. Eric |

Neither Irregular nor Kennington do any, which was a bit of a surprise. B&B Miniatures does French foreign legion figures in pith helmets without the overcoats, however:
Depending on how much of a button counter you are, you could also get away painting other nationalities differently, as this person did:

If timing is not an issue, you can also try convincing the proprietor of Hagen Miniatures, who has a longstanding interest in French colonialism: link |

I'm not a button counter.I don't need many French, just a few officers, nco's.Massimo Costa is coming out with some Algerian Tirailluers later but the Senegalese are hard to find at this scale.Hagen has what they call the Hagen Concept which is basically the whole process from sculpting to production which I might check out to have some Senegalese made. This is for a down the road project I have in mind when I retire next year so I'm not in a rush.I did order some Western Sudanese from Hagen but I haven't got them yet. And what do you make of the B&B figures pictured above? Do they fit the bill for Europeans? |

They don't look bad.My problem is I have some of Massimo Costa's figures which I like very much but are a little bigger than most 1/72's.Anybody in the US carry B&B ? Mark |
