I wrote a blog about common mistakes in wargame battle reports and show my experiment with a more interesting after action report in a graphic novel format, with the Comic Life app.

Some very good points about writing battle reports. I don't think that the comic book example works for me.

I'd point to the General Pettygree blog as an example of story telling excellence.

Agree with Der Alte Fritz, General Pettygree is a great blog with excellent AARs, a real "Ripping Yarn".
