I was wondering, the lack of active generic sci-fi miniature games on the market, I was wondering if anyone still played the old Shock Force/Warengine games and if there were an active online discussion groups around? |

There is a Slack page, but nothing has happened there in a long time. I created a Facebook page where Aaron is a member but since the pandemic not much has happened. I started to work on a modern variant but work has been too busy to work on it. The page is link |

I pulled out the rules recently. My son was visiting, and we were going to do a One Page Rules skirmish. But I almost sidetracked and took us back to WarEngine. I should ask on the facebook page whether anyone uses the rules for smaller scale skirmish, with more single units than groups. So you'd just relax the minimum 3 for troopers and 2 for elite, and maybe give everyone Sole Survivor. The only reason I moved on from The WarEngine was that I found doing larger battles where you resolve one figure at a time was slow. But for skirmish, that'd be fine. andy |

I still have my books and look at them nostalgically, but I have played a game (any game) in ages. |

A little off topic but if you are looking for a good set of generic sci fi rules check out Planet 28. The rules are free and there is a pretty active group on facebook |
