My fist efforts at pushing putty in over five years…..

Please, no "don't give up the day job comments", my morale will crack lol

Hopefully I will get better at this- it is an art make no mistake!

You can read the whole article on my blog here:

That's a pretty good effort!

It looks good.

One thing though.
If you look at the majority of medieval pictures of caparisoned horses, the tail is covered. (EDIT: I see now that you mentioned this on your blog)
link has lots from various sources. The tip of the tail can sometimes be seen poking below the hem of the caparison.

The head and neck would usually be covered but sometimes are shown free as in this picture of the Duke of Austria kaufmann.mtak.hu/en/study08.htm

A lot of sculptors keep the tail free and aesthetically it creates more movement. On some 15mm horses I have taken the tail off. It has the advantage that the heraldry is sometimes easier to paint.

Very nice! The "cloth" flows nicely. A subject close to my own heart, as I have to sculpt lots for the Italian Wars, although they are more rigid.

I agree. Nice work. Much better than I could have done.
