Day two and a battle between two great ships.

I have put up a report on my site -

How do the rules work solo? I have both Dahlgren and Columbiad and The Gridded Naval Wargame. But I'm always looking for something else. In between the two above complexity wise.

Very nice. I've printed out a number of the ships from Thingiverse (which I'm assuming you did as these look like them) and they are excellent models.

Now if I can only get the designer to do a few more ACW ships (Brooklyn class and Mohican class for example), plus a number of British and French ships, I'd be very happy.

Nice game report.

@nnascati I find they work fine solo which has something to do with the activation and the fact that my brain allows me to play both sides really easily :O)

I do intend doing some simple solo rules for these at some point, something along the lines of the ones I did for Stars & Lasers.

@ Dan Cyr thanks, the Monitor and the Tennessee are both from Peter Pig as are all of the burning wrecks except one, I do have lots of 3D printed ships though.

Mac,
Thanks, I bought the rules, I'll see if I can wrap my head around them. Three sets, three very different mechanics.

Lonely Gamer23 Dec 2020 1:28 p.m. PST

@nnascati cool, they are meant for simple fast play games.

I hope they are what you are looking for, let me know what you think.

I just printed out the shop charts and the other accessories. If the game can be played from the QRS, I'm sold!

@nnascati almost everything you need to play is on the QRS and on the ship cards, you may have the odd rule you will need to check in the rules until you have used them a couple of times, but there shouldn't be much.

Mac, D3? I'm assuming you mean roll a D6 and read as follows -

1,2 = 1
3,4 = 2
5,6 = 3

Lonely Gamer24 Dec 2020 12:45 p.m. PST

Yes I have actual D3's but if you don't then roll a D6 and count as you have said 1,2=1 3,4=2 and 5,6=3

Trying ship vs. ship, seems like a lot of die rolling.
