I've never been a fan of the Dixon horses although I find their line among the best for ACW (historicity, variety, character). Is there another horse to mount the cavalry figures and officers on?

I use a few of their US Indian Wars cavalry. There may be some horses that would work, but most others, like Foundry and Old Glory, have the saddle and rider as one piece and the horse with no saddle a separate piece.

That doesn't work too well with Dixon with the saddle on the horse.

Have to looked into Redoubt miniatures?

I just happened to remember Perry plastic horses have the saddles cast on them. I am not sure if the riders would actually fit.

Ebob miniatures sells nice horses with no riders.

Thanks for this info! I am looking into it. Some of the Dixons are okay but then the amount of horse poses becomes quite limited.
