Afternoon fellow gamers,

Here is the final unit off the blocks prior to the start of the Analogue Hobbies Winter Paint Challenge. The paint desk is now clear waiting the starting gun in a couple of days time.

I've been searching (and posting) about my search for suitable figures for Cavalry for Mesopotamia over the last few months and here is my latest journey into the more obscure corners of our hobby.

I came across these on the Newline Designs website, hidden away. I know Newline more as a 20mm Napoleonic manufacturer so I was slightly surprised to see them.

The proportions looked a bit off when I got them but they have painted up a treat, steel Lances courtesy of North Star and a couple of plastic swords from a Gripping Beast plastic set.

I like these alot and with Newline doing a 25% off sale in the new year I can see a second unit in my tarot cards !

Lots of pics and link to the figures on the blog post above.

Very nice. I would certainly fetch my brown trousers if I saw them charging me!

Those are very nice. I've always been interested in WW1 in Mesopotamia so it's a treat to see some figures painted up for the region.

Cheers,

Lascaris, I'm rapidly approaching 1000 28mm for WW1 Mesopotamia, check out our game write ups at Yarkshire Gamer if you've not seen before. Love to get more people gaming the period

Thanks Ken I'll do that. I game it using Great War Spearhead in 15mm. Here's a little pic of one of my games. It's not often I find someone else interested in the period so I thought I'd share. :)

You are making me more and more tempted by the period, though I am thinking of 20mm…
