I had a hankering to get my Fall foliage out for a game so came up with a AWI scenario for Sharp Practice. It was similar to the rescue scenario but was going to be turned around and was an attempt to capture a rebel leader by the Jagers.
This was another game played via texting with friends in the Atlanta area. Jess was the Jagers who were trying to grab a local reb commander and had a force of 30 Jagers. William opted to be the Rebels this time and he had 3 groups of militia and another 3 groups of rifle armed skirmishers. What Jess didn't know was that it was trap to give the annoying Crown raiders a bloody nose. I would arrive with 2 groups of light dragoons later in the game. Chris joined us later to take over for William. Sharp Practice rules and 15mm minis.

As always, your terrain is magic. When I finish painting my big 15mm AWI collection, I plan to go through the 4 British Grenadier scenario books to figure out which battles can have the striking fall coloured trees in them!

Germantown is kind of iffy. When I did it, I placed a few changing trees on my game board, but early October in PA is still a ways for the leaves changing.

Freeman's farm and Bemis Heights come to mind. I think perhaps White Plans as well.

Beware the huge flaw in the BG scenario book for Freeman's Farm – no redoubts were built yet.

Great looking game and this type of raiding game is something I'm getting into. Crooked Billet, Jenkin's Mill, Wissahickon are a few of the fights I'm looking into. They are many fights between militias and light troops.
