Great Escape Games are due to release a new range of 28mm Bulgarians for WWII early in the new year.

I've been lucky enough to pick up a couple of pre-production samples from the guys at GEG and have posted a few pics on my blog at link

I'm intending to finish painting them this evening, so will post a few photos when I'm done.

I don't know about you guys, but I love some minor nations action! ;-)

I have their Romanians. Very nice figures.

This is great that they are coming out with other nation figures.

I didn't think the Bulgarians actually did any real fighting in WW2. They certainly did in WW1 and performed quite credibly too.

That is an odd choice. I guess you could fight some partisan actions, or late war Germans vs. Bulgarians.

From what I have read they were on the Axis side until 1944 and when overrun by the Soviet Union declared war against Germany the next day so you could use them either way.

Hi folks,

I have finished painting two riflemen and shared the colours I used on my blog at link

I hope you like them! Any (constructive) suggestions on how I can improve my painting technique will be gratefully received.

I think Disco Joe is correct: they didn't see a lot of fighting until the last year of the war, but could be fielded to fight against either Russians or Germans.

I can see some Bulgarian volunteers coming over to UK for the VBCW. I have Polish, Czech, Dutch, French,Italian, German, American, Irish, Spanish. It was a very international war.
