I've seen some great tables and basing combos lately, such as the Hilton Hunt and Ilkey Old school blogs. They sort of epitomize what I'm looking to do with my old school project.

Would love to get pushed more links to excellent combinations of terrain, basing, buildings, etc. that to you are "Perfect Old School".

Thanks in advance!

Have you seen Pauls Bods' Airfix ACW Project?

Me? I just used carpet tiles cut to shape!, and plastic kit buildings…and a lot of imagination!

It made measuring things, working out LOS and if things were uphill or not, a LOT easier than in todays fancy terrain setups!

But I do prefer what we have now…

Hmmm, I'm not looking for "primitive" so to speak, more like nicely done simple old school stuff, sort of what you see at Gentleman's War and the above mentioned blogs.

What I want to know is- where is he getting these air fix soldiers at?

I second Clays question!!!

Evilbay – just be prepared to enter a bidding war, though. They are very popular, despite being slated by people for inaccuracies, detail etc. When I last looked, complete artillery sets were reaching £20.00 GBP without the ‘vintage in the box' tag.

However, Jacklex are available once again and expanding the range, so Old Skool 20mm is available in metal.

pretty disappointing post.

Only one reply on topic, and I was hoping to be able to see links to other layouts as good as the two blogs I mentioned.

I think the sensible thing for 20mm plastic ACW is to use non-Airfix….and when Airfix eventually bring their sets back into production again (!) buy tonnes of them whilst they are available evil grin
