Having got a little bit annoyed that all available modular dungeons or spaceship corridors were either too expensive, not available in the UK or just didn't meet my needs, I decided to try my hand at creating a cheap and simple scratchbuilt system.

And was successful. Cheap, easy to make and foesn't need any specialist materials or tools and can be 'skinned' to whatever genre you're playing.

Am I a genius? Judge for yourself:

I like them. Kudos to you.

Excellent. You can glue on greeblies for control panels, hatch controls, etc., paint the walls and floors as you like, etc. Well done!

Very nice! My only quibble is that I don't see a good way to stack the wall and door modules compactly when not in use, and that may be a failure of my imagination. (I may steal the idea anyway: I could certainly use some corridors.)

I have a couple of the Dover Electronic clip art books--those dealing with Viking art and Egyptian art. These could be used to make decorative "wallpaper" from typing paper to glue to your walls for dungeons, tombs, labyrinthine palaces, etc. I'll have to think about using them in conjunction with these walls. Hmmmm . . .

Maybe got it? If your door and wall pieces are half tiles--triangles looked at from top down, or L-shaped looked at sideways, if I make myself clear--you lose something in stability, but pick up quite a bit in stackability.

And of course you need half-size units for Jeffries tubes.

Thanks all. I hope that this idea has proven useful to all.

Regarding the stackability, having them as triangular bases as you suggest would work. If you used a heavier base, such as MDF or adding a metal washer, this would improve stability. Alternatively, using magnetic sheeting would forego the need for adding a havier base.

Oh genius, without a doubt.

Neat.

I suppose you could 3d print those, too, though because the walls have thickness, they might need some clever handling because joins would be different for corners and side-by-side walls.

I like the triangle design. I have usually gone with the three-sided-cube corner to make stackable terrain like that, but I may give the triangles a try now.

Brilliant!

Yes sir, CarrionCrow- you are a genius! Thank you for sharing!

That is a very interesting idea, I will have a go at knocking up something similar in MDF

Quite good! A little stonework and you're in the dungeon. or maybe there's stonework wallpaper for dollhouses? craft supplies? Dunno. Or just download an image from the web and print it out and paste?
