Does anyone have any thoughts on how O Scale buildings look with 28mm? I'm not a fan of MDF and have recently gotten my hands on a whack of Old Glory Gangster buildings in 28mm from Noble Knight. There's some buildings I'd like to add to my city like a movie theatre and police station and have seen MTH makes some decent enough looking kits in O scale. Any insight is helpful. |

I have used O scale buildings with my 28mm Sci-Fi troops since the 1970's. At that time model railroad buildings were about the only things available, and O scale was the only scale with doors the troops could actually walk through. Nowadays there are a lot of options, but back then if you wanted any unusual architecture (other than brick or wood) you had to scratch build it. |

I use O scale buildings also, they look right with 28mm figures. |

The O scale buildings (1/48) will probably be larger than your old glory buildings (28mm or 1/56). Might not support mixing within the same city block, but might look OK on the same table if in separate groupings. I've got a bunch of plasticville "O-scale" but it's really a better fit for S-scale. Either way I use it with my 28-30mm figures and intermix with paper buildings. |

I use Plasticville and K-Line models both nominally "O" scale but nearer "S". I also use the ERTL Cowtown and Farm Country buildings which again are "S" (1/64) but work well with 28mm figures. Best wishes, Martin |

Use "O" scale building extensively for my Zombie games in 28mm, mix them with other "28mm" scale buildings without problem. |

Like Oddball, I use "O" scale for my Zombie attack on the Springer Trailer Park game. The Plasticville models are more consistent in scale then the K-line. Some of the K-line doors look closer to HO scale, so be ready to do some modifications on them. That said, don't limit yourself to what the building are designed to represent. In my own case I took a K-line fire station and replaced the main door (it was to small) and took out the two bay doors replacing them with a large advertising display window turning the whole kit into a strip club (complete with a "Clergy Only" parking sign in the rear). I picked up most of my models on E-bay mainly from lots of multiple buildings. The average price was less than $10.00 USD each. |

For my Zombie games, I also have a Plasticville Trailer Park, a cemetery, & enough other buildings for a couple of blocks of a small town's business district. I use the L shaped Ranch House as the "Risqué Ranch" topless bar: "Great Minds ", etc. |

Thanks for the input lads. I think I would definitely keep the O scale stuff in a separate grouping from my Old Glory ones. And Vince, yes I have given some thought about using certain buildings for other functions than their intended representation. |

There are a couple buildings in the OG western buildings that also work well with their gangster ones (Empire Block 1 and 2) |

All good ideas above. O scale is 1:48 and works fine with OG's Blue Moon 28mm. I don't have the gangsters, but I do have figures from some of the other Blue Moon 28mm range and have used them with O scale structures. Also, remember that your figures will be on bases, raising them up. This makes them fit in even better IMO. For O scale buildings, check Walthers, which is a large model railroad distributor and dealer. They have 478 O scale structures listed here: link You can get model railroad items discounted online, so you'll want to search for those shops and ebay to save money. I highly recommend MTH (Mike's Train House) pre-builts and Woodland Scenics kits and pre-builts. Walthers also has the old Plasticville (now owned by Bachmann) structures. The Plasticville and K-Line are really more like 1:68 as mentioned above. I like them. Plus there are so many other O scale accessories available. If you set up an O scale train around the Xmas tree, the O scale structures can do double-duty! :-) |

I use to use Plasticville building, until one I decided that Confederate troops defending the Sinclare Gas Station wasn't quite right. |
