Very limited in scope. The title needs to be changed to reflect the limited focus.

It isn't meant to be a detailed work, but a primer.

If anyone wants a detailed work, I would highly recommend Robert Quimby's excellent two-volume study The US Army in the War of 1812: An Operational and Command Study.
