I thought it was excellent. It's a mix of documentary and drama. They use a framing device depicting the life and training of a fictional 17th century Polish nobleman. Those sequences are interspersed with commentary about how the sabers were made, how the warriors were trained, etc. The fictional portions are very well done and would be great as a stand alone regular movie. The makers are fight choreographers/saber-fighting experts and it really shows in the very well done fight sequences. |
