All,
I've pretty well decided to go with 1/1200 models. The scratch builds I have been using fit in a 2 1/2 inch hex, so I'm use to handling small pieces. I want to base the models I'm buying on Litko clear pill shaped bases. Do you all use a single size base?

I dont, tho I don't use hexes either. If you go for a single size, New Ironsides likely won't fit, while Little Rebel will be lost on it.

Just my tuppence.

I agree with HMS Exeter. Even a cottonclad looks lonely on a base that would accommodate Hartford, Alabama, or New Ironsides.

I have a mixture blue-water and brown-water vessels in 1/1200 so I cut plexiglass to fit.

I went with 50x25mm pill shaped clear bases from Litko. Since I'll probably be the only one gaming with them, I'm fine with that. I got the 3mm thick bases.
