It's always great when a new release of models sparks more interest in the subject matter, but I have to say Warlord really phoned it in on the metal stern pieces. Most of the metal sterns look very bad and inaccurate, but the one for the Constellation is particularly terrible. They clearly just googled the ship name, saw the one currently in Baltimore and didn't bother to check whether it was the same vessel.

Similarly for their gunboat models, I think they just googled gunboats of the period, saw images of the Philadelphia, and assumed that was a common design – when the exact opposite was true.

I'm sure I'm just unreasonably nit-picky, but it's not like manufacturers haven't been able to achieve greater accuracy in half the size, in 1/1200 model lines.

LOL. Aren't we all over certain things. I wouldn't let it worry you.

I said as much on their Facebook page. I got attacked for being a 'button counter' by a member of the forum and was the focus of some real nasty vitriol. The game designer acknowledged by comment but said he decided to go with the curved stern of the ACW ship in Baltimore because it was an interesting variation. Art over accuracy I guess.

Bought the starter kit. Rules seem okay, Generic ships are ok. Would not buy the fleet sets though, especially the US set.
