We've done it for just about everything else.

Thanks.

Years ago I wrote an article on the organization and weapons for the Satsuma Rebellion of 1877. If you would like a copy you can contact me directly at burker1 (at) aol (dot) com.

I think TSATF would be great for samurai!
Would you be modeling some of the more fantastical themes such as ninjas and monks and their reputed abilities?
I've also considered the Boxer Rebellion with the magic powers kung fu masters supposedly have… 😃

I found some free Samurai rules you could use: link
In my mind, there are two kinds of fights in traditional Samurai films: the quick kills against the grunts and then the prolonged, exciting cut and thrust between opponents of similar talent. Perhaps you could bolt on rules for the latter onto the basic movement, firing and hand to hand rules.

I have been waiting for the 40th anniversary to be released. I think it would work just fine.

Not quite TSATF, but wasn't there a variation of Brother Against Brother for Samurai warfare?

Boy that sounds intriguing!!! I've given special abilities to important historical or fantastical people in a scenario to keep them from dying too quickly by extra pluses in combat and ignoring the first couple wounds or kills but giving the player -1's as they add up for shooting, melee, reduced move, etc… that could prolong a good samurai melee battle.
