Need help. I came across a blog and/or article on a game where the players were commanding cavalry regiments on the same side. They were playing with but also against each other for glory. Period was either 17th/18th century. The enemy (artillery batteries, infantry regiments) was managed by umpire or card play, not sure. Looking for help on finding more information about this game.

There was a participation game at Salute with French cavalry charging the Fleches at Borodino; I recall an article about in in Wargames Illustrated.
