Just started an io group for discussion of anything and everything Napoleonic……rules, figures, battle reports, etc. If interested, shoot me an email to… seanblues eighty seven in numerals at aol dot com …and I'll send you an invite. |

Much safer. Beware the robots that seeks out such. I am told they even watch out for "at" instead of @ but somehow that sounds like paranoia. So go on. Tell a 67 year oldie what is an "io group"? With apologies…… |

I feel old. I did not know about Yahoo groups. This social media thing is lost on me, although I am sure it will catch on in time. |

Dodgy? So is emailing an 'unknown' such as this. I also run IOGs and it is plainly simple to just privide the GROUP url and be done with it. No need for secret squirrel messages and 'invites'- those things that could carry a malicious payload and/ or links… THAT is a measure of security beyond emailing an 'unknown'… -btw there are a lot of interest groups. If you haven't been established before now, the 'new' group is severely limited (as pay as you go principle has been put in place for even basic features now). regards d |

IO:groups is pretty good, the old yahoo groups were popular back in the old days, but were obscure. I only discovered yahoo by accident while looking for resources about a set of rules. I moved to IO:group well before yahoo died, because yahoo was so flaky. While IO:Group is social media, its nothing like facebook or twitter, which are of minimal value to any actual gamer. However for IO:group, its best used as a repository for content, such as rules, scenarios, etc. Is there any specific set of rules you focus on? |

>>While IO:Group is social media, Garbage. Nothing the like! It is an email list-serve with a repository web site 'if desired' by the originator. Nothing is forced upon you except basic security protocols. AND THERE IS NO PUBLIC AUTOMATED ADVERTISING- ZERO. Otherwise, as my reply above. The biggest problems- people who want something from somewhere else to happen, and are ignorant/ ignoring basic rules. regards d |
