Dave etal, I've been playing Bob Cordery's Gridded Naval Wargame for ACW, but would like to try something with a bit more to it. Will D&C work solo? Nick |

I would say yes. During a turn, the order each side takes actions (movement/combat) are randomly determined by card draws, with each side getting 3 actions cards. So you don't have to worry about plotting movement or gunnery. You just draw a card, resolve that side's actions, and then repeat until all the cards are drawn. |

Thanks, that sounds hopeful. The rules seem pretty straight forward. |

Yes it does. I've played several games and its ideal for solo play. Here's an example: link |

I did message Dave, but perhaps someone else could answer this. With the card driven action phases, am I correct in thinking that one side could elect to fire or move multiple times? |

You can move and fire within each of your own phases |

Thanks Dave. Now to figure out what to buy. I'm going to replace my primitive scratch built models. |

What scale are you thinking of? |

I'm going to get the 1/1200 models from Shapeways, Brown Water Navy. I've done 1/600th before, as well as a couple of scratch built sets. |

Langston, Thoroughbred, Nav War, and Pit Road also make some excellent 1200 scale ironclads. |

Boggler How do you track damage and hits? The rules seem pretty easy overall, but I a, stuck on that one point. |
