The next installment to my Dixon Confederate army, John Bell Hood, commander of the Texas Brigade. Thanks for looking. More photos and info on the blog link below.

Beautiful work. My favorite unit and leader, up to division command.

Thanks Shagnasty! Probably mine too. He was a lot of fun to do, looking forward to working on the Texan regiments.

Great work and very effective basing

The high point of Hood's career – it all goes downhill after that!

Nice work as always Shaitan.

Thanks guys! I had to make sure the standard bearer was positioned on the base in a way he would be in a decent view from the two main angles I photographed it. Yes, a career that ended in decline.

Beautiful work – but my Yankee sniper has him in his sights!!

Beautiful painting on these figures. Those Dixon figures are caricactured, but they have a unique charm about them.

Dixon figures are great….short and stocky but definately a lovely charm about them…..

Yes, Dixon figures do have their critics, for their Hobbit looks.

I have only ever used them for a diorama of Bushwhackers, led by Quantrill and Bloody B Anderson, but just loved the quality of sculpting.

But the facial work here is just astounding. That is not just the modelling, that is real artistry. The old boy, second from the left above, that is just amazing. These are 28mm figures after all.

•Torokchar that's mean, he's been through enough.
•Texaswalker and Tabletopndice, thanks very much! Yeah I do love the charm of Dixon figs and as I've said before, you can field an entire force without duplicates.
•That is a real complement Deadhead, thank you! Yeah the Bushwhacker figs are great. I have them but not gotten around to doing them yet.
