Come join HMGS-Midwest and Games Plus in supporting Battlefront's "Toys for Tots"

This year we are proud to announce gaming for a charitable cause, on Wednesday, December 2nd. Hosted at Games Plus in Mt, Prospect IL. We will be kicking off the event in two phases.

From 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, we will be running a mega-Flames of War game, based on 1942 Western Desert (mid war). Bring your own 1200 point army or use a loaner.

The evening session, will run from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and will be a repeat of the mid war mega game, along with a Team Yankee table run by Darrell Hartsig.

The fee to play will be one toy (unwrapped) around $15. USD Players can game in both sessions in they bring two toys. Prizes will be randomly awarded by Battlefront, on a national scale. Play twice and double your chances.

All Covid restrictions will be in place, for all events. This year, has hit this charity particularly hard, so please help.

If you cannot make the event but still want to contribute please email me directly at President@hmgsmidwest.com. You will be entered in the prize drawing.

Yes, we will be running a large FOW Vietnam game (3-4 Boards) at Showcase Comics Swarthmore PA on Dec 5th. Our 3rd year supporting Battle Fronts efforts to help the Marines with Toys for Tots.

Now more than ever, we need to support our troops and help bring Holiday gifts to needy children.

We will register our players that donated a toy or toys (Min $15 USD value) with Battlefront for Prizes that will be randomly picked. Grand Prize is your height in product and other prizes to be awarded as well.

Specking of Which- Santa Moe how is your collection going with no Fall-IN? Is there a way we can send some $$ your way to help. Not sure if Cyber Wars 2 helped you raise money?

Thank you to all who donated at Showcase Comics Swarthmore for our 3rd annual Toys for Tots drive. We collected a table (5 x 8) full of Toys for the Marines to distribute to needy families.

We ran 2 tables of FoW Vietnam with 1 board as off board assets at Da Nang AFB, USS Enterprise and Ho Chi Minh trail.

Board #1- Mountain Village to the North needed protection- US Special Forces landed by Choppers are humped through jungle fending off VC ambushes. Called in firebase support to help clear the way. However it was a Flight of F-4 Phantoms and Skyraiders from USS Enterprise that broke Charlie back with Napalm strikes. A timely call for reserves saw the Aussie Armor and Infantry arrive to help push to the Mountain Village that was under assault and constant Mortar and rocket fire.

Board #2 the Mekong Delta. US Brown Water Navy led by two very young Commanders (Ages 14 to 15) Got a good taste of "Welcome to the Nam" They pressed up river searching Villages for VC. An Ambush was sprung and a Spotter sited in a Patrol boat for the 122 mm Rocket battery set up on Trail. (Boat sank immediately) Our Young Hero's called in Helicopter Gunships only to see them both get shot down. Commander Nick called in Captain Tywee Nim strike force to capture a small village North of the American Brown Water Navy (Shame these youngsters had no idea who Captain Nim was. Movie: The Green Beret 1968) As Captain Nim tried to save the down pilots, they walked into an Ambush, Our Young Heroes panicked and called in Skyraiders from Da Nang and USS Enterprise to eliminate the threat. I would quote Sgt Barnes at this point about Fire Missions, but you know what happened. In the end our young Heroes secured the area but lost Captain Nim as "He took a lot of them with him"
