I'm a bit confused by what I find online and in the few books I have on the Vietnam War.

A lot of sources mention khaki as the color of the uniform of North-Vietnamese regulars in the early years of the war but almost every picture I saw has them in green uniforms.

I have these gorgeous Gringo 40's NVA regulars and I want to get them right for the period 1966 to 1968. So should I paint them khaki or green? What's your opinion gentlemen?

PS: sorry for the multiple posts, something went wrong when I clicked the post button.

The NVA went green in 66 so I would go with green. The north's militia units kept the old khaki uniforms and a lot them were sent south for the Tet offensive so it possible to have them as well.

There are a few books on military collectable items concerning the NVA . The pictures of original uniform items have a lot of different green and brown Kaki shades. I would support having them painted in different Kaki and greens. You could even mix them on the same figure or ad the occasional black trousers.

Tomrommel1 is right. Both. I have read countless accounts of eye witnesses reporting both.

Thank you gentlemen, a mix of khaki and green it is then! :-)

According to Gordon Rottman who was there, Green, Khaki, Blue denim and any combination of the three.
