In the DunnKempf rules there is no FO available for the Sovjets, in Contact! there is. When did the Sovjets include FOs in the Tank bataillon and which vehicles were used?

IIRC the FO was also the battery Commander. more planned fires and less requests for fire

As Mike said, a tank battalion would get a battery commander from the regimental artillery battalion. The vehicle is the ARCV-1, see link to GHQ: link

If you don't have them, google for FM 100-2-1, -2 and -3. These will tell you everything you need to know about the Cold War Soviet Army.

According to FM 100-2-3 the Tank regiment (T-64/72/80)had
8 ARCV-IV12 series (sic)
Easy to find if you know what you should look for.
