Has anyone found these yet? I see one in a nearby Big W, but does anyone have any information about them?

Conflicting images show an integral game, or just toys.
Their faceplant page has much sensation and little information.

The game instructions are on their website:

It's one page and looks really simple. Might be a good game to get kids involved in the hobby.

Rules look OK for a quick Giant Stompy Robot game but I'm put off by the 'carry case' as that will push the price up for no real advantage in the game.

You could class it as post industrial mecha but it adds to shipping, storage and resource waste with no real purpose. Shame, as these could have been bagged for a lucky dip :-)

Think I may wait till next year and see if they pop up in the January sales (or on eBay without the case).

I think the carry case also acts as terrain (as seen in the first video).

Wow, the video was made by someone who's really into '80s/'90s toy commercials.

The case does act as terrain.
The whole package, case and all, is 16AUD at Big W.
It's not packaging, or really a carry case.

Pay-to-win is a horrible business/gaming model anyway.

Agreed – I had countless 'Construction Mechs' back during Clix Mechwarrior.

It actually could have worked… 3 cheap 'common' construction mechs match up with 1 high point 'rare' battlemech.

But, of course, the points system was a mess and rare=more powerful (higher power/cost ratios) to the point that most of the common stuff was just literal garbage.

But good for kitbashing fodder!

Sorry for the threadromancy, but these turned up in my local discount store – though not very discounted IMO (welcome to Brexit Britain)! Did anyone pick any of these up for kit bashing and for what scale? A couple of them look quite nice (shame about the blind boxes), but the plastic also looks kind'a soft from the photos.

chironex18 Feb 2022 3:42 a.m. PST

Knocking my nails on them show it's not terribly soft. I got a squad of four.
By the end, they were down to 10AUD. I am using them for a budget merc squad for 28mm, as the designs just don't make much visual sense for anything smaller.
