Thanks in advance for the guidance. I have the rulebook. I also have some Caesarian Roman figures, some medieval figures from Fireforge and Gripping Beast. What additional books do I need in order to play ancients and dark age/medieval age. I have SAGA 2 rule book and some battle dice, but thats about all.

Age of Crusades for the Medieval. Caesar's Romans are not in any book yet. You could use any figures in Age of Magic. The dice are army specific, which ones do you have?

Age of Vikings if your figures are early Medieval.
Caesar's Romans would do for the Republicans in age of Hannibal, but you'd ned other ancient opponents.

I have most of the battle dice sets [off of eBay]. In 28mm I have Ceasarian Romans, Nikephorian Byzantines, Gripping Beast plastic Arabs [foot and cavalry], and lots of unpainted dark age types from various manufacturers. I was mainly wondering what books I needed. Whats a bit confusing is I had heard that some books replaced other books.

Version 2 is current, and has been out for years. There are four ages currently available written for V2 – Age of Vikings, Age of Crusades, Age of Magic, and Age of Hannibal. More are coming. The Age books each contain the faction rules and battle-boards. I would pick, according to your interests, either the Vikings or Crusades book. And then proceed from there.

Thanks so much Bohemund. Exactly what I needed.
