"The Pledge October 2020" Topic

Nearing the end of the year and facing the upcoming Black Friday and Christmas sales. Last months post TMP link
October finally saw some finished figures. The bits of painting I had been doing got me close enough to be able to finish two groups of figures. Disciplined purchasing and a bit more time painting should see a positive result for the end of the year.

Bought = 0
Painted = 25 5-GNW Russian Artillery 28mm, 20 Cossacks 28mm.

YTD Bought = 217
YTD Painted = 237
Yearly profit = +20

Got a few too many deals on ebay, so not as good as hoped but still positive.

net gain= 49

luckily a big Old Glory order arrived in November, got to get painting to counter that order.

I painted 30 figures last month--some of them were among the 19 I bought that month (OK, so four of these were the easy ones that only needed 2-3 colors, like mummies and statues).

Total for the year:
Bought = 158
Painted = 169
Net gain = 11

The big net gain for the year was selling off 600 unpainted figures in September. This out of an unpainted pile estimated at 7,300. I counted my unpainted figures just once, and immediately went into a severe state of depression, so I won't do that ever again, or at least not until I'm sure the total will be well below a thousand!

Of course, the really big painting news for October is that we finished painting the house!

For my 2020 goal of 350 28mm sized figures I'm going to call that 102 figures. My running total so far was 491, already completely blowing my goal out of the water, and brings me up to 593 28mm sized figures (or the equivalent there of.) I expect that I will double my 350 goal this year.
