Hmmm, not much in the way of cooking details there.

I do find that some sausage manufacturers put a lot of sugar in their recipes, so you also need to cook them on medium-high, to medium heat to keep them from blackening too much, or burning/schorching. I usually start at the higher temp, and then turn down after flipping for the first time, depending upon the color of the meat.

I generally do patties, and tend to flip them a few times for each side during the cooking process, which for those takes about 10 – 12 minutes – 2 ounce patties.

Cooking them with a lid on helps to ensure they get done internally at the lower temps.

I start them off with a small amount of water in the pan to help start them cooking without scorching… after the water evaporates, they cook up nicely and give a really good snap (and they don't get as crispy).

I use fully cooked when camping with the Trail Life troop (it helps ensure the food is edible), at home Cook low and slow.
