"I wanted to have a truck for our Pulp campaign in Darkest Africa. So I bought a couple of Die-cast on eBay. The one I use here is from the Power of the Press series by Matchbox. But any other model will work as well. So let's start.

Die-cast models are very glossy out of the box. So you need to prime the whole piece and repaint it.

Mask the windshields, if you prefer them to stay transparent. I used masking tape for that. But any tape, which is easily removable will work for this task…"

I use dicast modells occtionally, I just jam the wheels and leave it at that somtimes.

I've had some good luck with die castvehicles in 28mm games. I've just used them straight out of the box -- of course, they've all been civilian vehicles, so that looked OK.

I have a couple of pickup trucks that should get dinged up a bit to look like they're really being used on the farm / around the mine / by the landscapers.

Also on my agenda (aka lead mountain) are three old and beaten up diecast X-wing fighters. I'm not sure I'll try to strip the original paint, but I will have to make or find a couple of cockpit canopies and replace probably all of the wingtip guns.
