So we're tearing down statues of real people and erecting statues of fictional people? Why am I not surprised? |

I can understand the 'Rocky' statue in terms of cultural impact, yadda, yadda. But this is… niche would be a good word. I believe that this proves my reality is broken. Anybody know where I can get it repaired? |

Kirk's got a plaque or what not. Why not the other captions? It is good for tourism and local economy and such, I'm sure. And another spot for fans to visit. Great to see Kate got involved. No one's complaining about all the aliens in Roswell. At least she's human. What about lady justice or Lady liberty? They are fictional, to some extent. Heck if you can get away with great big letters (used to be even bigger!!!) Over looking Hollywood, I fail to see the line others have apparently found. Great to see them spreading the money potential around. Not just studio tours and conventions putting money in the usual pockets. |

>Kirk's got a plaque or what not. 15 years ago on vacation, diverted off I-80 in Iowa to this tiny town…Riverside? Memory fades… one sec…Google it…. Wow. It is Riverside… …where Kirk was born. The local park had a 15-foot or so metal sculpture-ish of the Enterprise. The local headstone company carved a headstone for Kirk and billed it something like the future birthplace of Kirk… Apparently there's a statue of Kirk there now. Photos online. Maybe this could start a trend. Chekov looking for nuclear wessels… A Zefram Cochrane statue in Bozeman, Montana… A Scotty statue in the Apple computer store… Spock at the Aquarium… |
