I am hoping that some folks have already played the following rules and can offer some comparisons of them between each other. Modern Micro Armor Modern Spearhead Panzer Korps OpFor I don't have the time or ability to play multiple rules sufficiently to compare them to each other. I've never played any modern miniatures wargames. I have already purchased all three of these and after going over the rules once each, I find myself unable to identify key differences that would matter in play. I'm looking to play 6mm combined arms modern wargames. I'm interested in being able to play a division-size at least. One key item: I'd like to be able to sub-divide the division to have players controlling a battalion each. In this case I'm not overly concerned if the battalion player might have a tiny job or be "bored" because this idea would be for a dream idea I have of getting a general to use the rules for wargaming as training for a brigade staff and / or a division staff. |

I'm not sure about PK but the other two sets may not be able to handle the size game you would like to play. I'm not sure of any modern set that will run a division sized game per side. John |

Modern Spearhead is written for this (it says so in the sub-title!) and serves the purpose. Lots of on-line support and info for it too – OOBs and so forth. Combined Arms (Chadwick) might do for you as well. MMA I own but have not played. PZOF I neither own nor have played. |

The other two popular options at this time are Cold War Commander (new version coming soon) and Fistful of TOWS 3. Cold War Commander is the modern version of the very popular Blitzkrieg Commander and both of these rules sets do a pretty good job with modern combined arms. |

Modern Spearhead can handle a divisional sized game, though it is still large. It is my preferred Modern ruleset. I am not familiar with the other two… though I would love to see a review of PZOF. Joe Collins |

I have owned all three. Of the three rule sets PanzerKorps/OPFOR is the one rule set capable of having a player run a division. The first two rule sets are a platoon/5 vehicles per element. PzKOF is a company per element. This YouTube Channel covers rule sets from skirmish through operational level rule sets. YouTube link You will also find YouTube videos for PanzerKorps (including instructional videos for the PZK rule system) and Spearhead, though I have not found any for Modern Micro Armor |

FFT is the choice. I think I have played them all. PM me for for special info. |

We have played divsional sized games with Fistful of Tows fairly easily, I think they are the best "tactical" ruleset for big battles as the interactions are relatively simple, so you can get a lot of actions done fast. We tend to play multiplayer, a brigade perplayer is fine. |
