"It was the decade that gave the world the maverick New Hollywood drama, the Nixon-era paranoid thriller, the slasher flick, the all-star disaster movie, the gross-out comedy and the modern mega-blockbuster. Star Trek: The Motion Picture: "It's the one Kirk film that feels like a worthy tonal predecessor to The Next Generation series that would give the franchise a creative second wind."

Really? Really???

Yea, I don't see the connection between ST: Motion Picture and The Next Generation either. I guess anyone can write nonsense articles.

The 1970's was a pretty good decade for science fiction; movies and games. Star Wars set a new standard in movies and Traveller rpg in games.

I also think Logan's Run should get kudos for visionary look at the future.
