Late to the wake but just saw this and had to post my sincere agreement. And lest we forget, in addition to Daniel Dravot, he also immortalized Mulai Ahmed er Raisuli, Lord of the Rif, and Last of the Barbary Pirates, in the John Milius masterpiece, THE WIND AND THE LION. It's a bummer, but I take sincere solace thinking… man, but he had a good run.
