So has anyone else seen this? I'm quite excited – not interested in Wizards but a Science Fiction Roleplaying light/skirmish by Joseph McCullough looks like it might be good.

Nope.

Sounds like the 1710 – 1720 period, from the Caribbean, in space, with aliens of course.

Interesting.

I picked up on this on LAF. Sounds like it will be fun.

It's Frostgrave in space. Not necessarily a bad thing, but is it just a reskinning, or will there be real differences?

I like the product description, sounds like Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader.

Is it just me or is there a serious price point on these?

Chimpy02 Nov 2020 11:20 a.m. PST

I just checked the pre-order price on Amazon. USD35 doesn't seem outrageous for a new hardback book but that depends on how much it contains.

Apparently Northstar are also going to release plastic kits like they did for Frostgrave. I need these like a hole in the head considering how many Star Wars and other SF figures that I have.

Hopefully it will be generic enough to do a Star Wars post empire game or Firefly without having to modify the rules too much.

Oh that is lower than I have seen..ok. I kept running into $65 USD for what amounts to a squad of character/troops.

I got my rule book , day before yesterday. Nicely done.

I purchased the Amazon Kindle version. While there are some rules specific figures being offered, any figures can be used.

It's mostly a reskinning. Most reviewers seem to accept this as more of a good thing. I'm torn. I'm a fan of Frostgrave, but I don't want to keep playing the same engine in different settings. I want to be surprised by novel approaches to gaming.
