I recently had the opportunity to tour Old Fort Jackson in Savannah Georgia. You can see my photo survey here link

Did you also check out Fort McAllister while you were there?

I was just passing through on my way from Florida to Michigan so I only had time for one fort. Where is McAllister in relation to the city? I can put it on my itinerary for my next trip south.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing all those photos. It looks like that guide was trying to sink the paddleboat.

I have fond memories of Old Fort Jackson. When I was reenacting heavily we drove down there a few times for living histories. Firing the 32 pounder was great, even if we were only allowed to shoot blanks.

John the Greater,

Went there years ago on my first pass through Savannah, you can find my photo survey here link

My first thought upon seeing it was "Man, that is a LOT of bricks!"

Links to the other places that I have taken loads of photos of can be found here: link
