Good evening Hive Mind I was wondering if anyone can point me to some decent painting references for the Sicilian Estero Regiment in Murrays army at Castalla in 1813 I get mixed results looking online so thought i'd consult the experts Regards J |

Is this one you have seen on-line? I have used this source for my own Peninsular forces, but have no idea how reliable it is. I work on the principle that if info is scanty, nobody can confidently contradict me! link |

this one has a light infantry officer picture from this unit on page 7, plus many more from this army PDF link seems blue coat with poppy red collar&cuffs, silver buttons and single epaulette), black round hat with red (Bourbon) cockade plus red-topped green plume, although this is light troop, so centre Coys may not have it, blue overalls, black hussards boots other troops seems to favour black helmet of Tarleton style, which is quite unusual elsewhere, so fun to paint. plus, if you can get Tranié & Carmignati "Napoleon's War in Spain" you have several examples of 2-sicilia kingdom's uniform (that had a chance of having been sent to east coast Spain, even if they did not go out of port) on page 176 (grenadier, light troops, etc..) |
