And yet according to French daily Le Parisien, investigators say that the killer's contacts were with a different Islamist terror group in Syria (Haya't Tahrir El Sham, HTS) — and that the attack by the 18-year-old (later killed in a standoff with police) was neither inspired nor orchestrated by ISIS…"

One incident does not make a resurgence, IMO. France has a large muslim population, it's easier for the one off jihadi loony to do such horrible things. They need to round up more of his associates, etc. Which I believe they are.

If they can discern where this jihadi got the support and/or who is emailing him about killing infidels, etc. There should be some form of punishment, etc. Even if it means to send a few cruise missiles to the location of the jihadis are operating if possible.

Yes, and he was radicalized from somewhere. Maybe even his mosque ? It has happened before again with France's large moslem population.
