I received this message from Yahoo Groups today.

You are receiving this email because you are a member or administrator of a Yahoo Group at groups.yahoo.com.

Dear Yahoo Group Moderators and Members,

We are reaching out to let you know that groups.yahoo.com (Yahoo Groups) and its list service will shut down on December 15, 2020. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services. For example, you will continue to be able to use your Yahoo Mail account as usual and read content on Yahoo sites like Yahoo News.

Yahoo Groups (groups.yahoo.com) has seen a steady decline in usage over the last several years. Over that same period we've witnessed unprecedented levels of engagement across our properties as customers seek out premium, trustworthy content. To that end, we must sometimes make difficult decisions regarding products that no longer fit our long-term strategy as we hone our focus on other areas of the business.

Beginning December 15, 2020 the groups.yahoo.com website will shut down and members will not be able to access the website or use its features. We've compiled a comprehensive FAQ here that includes alternative providers and information on how this will impact your group content.

Thank you for helping us build one of the earliest digital communities — we're proud and honored to have forged countless connections over the last 20 years and played a small part in helping build your communities.

Sincerely,
The Yahoo Groups team

Most if not all the groups of which I was a member have already transitioned to either io groups or to TapaTalk.

Exactly! They shut all the groups down last year. What is this? They treated us poorly, insufficient time to get all the stuff out to new groups.

Oh well. I find facebook a pain in the backside Perhaps I'm too dumb but the groups are already gone

Most groups have moved to Facebook or created something with one of the Google features. I am continually amazed at how many wargaming groups there are on FB which cover every period known to mankind.

We've kept our Yahoo List going 'til now. Transition
to groups io is in place.
