It has been claimed that the Russians used a relatively new Russian EW warfare system called Krasukha to take out up to 9 ATurkish built Bayraktar TB-2 drones that flew close to the Russian air base at Gyumri in Armenia

Footage has emerged of crashed Turkish built Bayraktar TB-2 drones. These don't appear to have any weapons damage.

The base is near the Turkish-Armenian border (less than 10 kms away) and the drones are unmarked so their identity is unclear as both Azerbaijan and Turkey use Bayraktar TB-2s.

Turkey and Russia were seemingly sailing on parallel courses. Now the air of mutual deception thins and a new proxy war emerges. Each party has an agenda and neither is beneficial to the other. We are seeing ECM/ECCM warfare develope at the same time as drones sniping tanks and artillery. We arent playing Chadwicks GDW WW3 series any longer.

I've seen these reports and that's why I've been writing before that jamming is as important in fighting drones menace as various AA systems. Definitely cheaper to use too. Some comments mention Krasuha systems, already in use ar our base in Syria.
And yes, we're looking at very important changes in conventional war…

Seems that Israeli drones are better as not that many have been taken out of the sky.

"Seems that Israeli drones are better as not that many have been taken out of the sky."

Does that surprise you?

But what's interesting is that the Turkish drones generally use western electronics.

So whilst Israel might have an advantage, other western drones might be more vulnerable. Indeed there is that RQ-170 stealth drone the Iranians captured a few years ago.

Russian EW is generally considered pretty darn good. While their budget generally only supports minimal amounts of propaganda showpiece hardware such as the T-14 Armata and the 4.5 gen Su-57, the money they've invested in EW and ECM seems to work quite well and because it is not mega rubles to deploy, they seem to have decent quantities.

Krasuha 4

De facto, only 1 Bayraktar was confirmed 100%, as well as several other Azeri and Israeli ones. Everything else is still at the level of statements. But what I thought was whether the massive flight of Azerbaijani drones into Iran was the result of the work of such systems, which, unable to turn around and return to the base, begin to fly on their previous course and fly into Iranian airspace, where they are shot down by Iranian air defense. Everything here rests on the real working range of the Krasukha and its real deployment. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that a few days ago, the daily losses of drones in Azerbaijan did indeed increase, which led to the emergence of various materials with photographs and videos of downed drones.

The Turks are copycats, they aren't capable of designing stuff like this themselves, and they can't make the real high tech parts required themselves either.
Goes for their entire weapons industry.

Also the Russian base at Gyumri is pretty much on the Turkish border (literally 10 km away). Azeri border is 100 kilometres away at its closest point.

Make of that what you will.

E.g. just like the SCW before WWII and the '73 Arab-Israeli War, etc.. The "super powers" get to see how their new tech works. In actual battlefield conditions. And they and everyone else watches to see strengths, weaknesses, etc.
