While doing some on-line research on the Russian Army of the 1870s/1880s, I came across a book titled The Russian Army and Its Campaigns in Turkey: 1877-1878. It was by 1st Lt FV Greene, US Army Engineers who was a military attached to St. Petersburg. It was published in 1879 by D. Appleton Co. of New York. It can be downloaded in multiple formats from:
