NOOOOOOOOOOOO……..!!!!!! (smile) "The past few months have been one hell of an emotional roller coaster, with Taco Bell revamping its menu, ostensibly to "streamline the restaurant experience." I say ostensibly because the world remains baffled by the egregious elimination of the 7-Layer Burrito. (All the ingredients to make this item remain at Taco Bell! They're not hard to assemble! I demand justice.) Now it's time to brace ourselves once more, because Taco Bell has announced a fresh round of menu cuts: say goodbye to pico de gallo, shredded chicken, and Mexican Pizza. That's right, Mexican Pizza. There's not a single damn thing that's sacred anymore. In what seems to be a conscious effort not to repeat 7-Layergate, Taco Bell has shared some of its reasoning behind these eliminations. Pico de gallo, which was primarily used on the healthy-ish Fresco menu, will be replaced by the fresh diced tomatoes already used on many of Taco Bell's non-healthy-ish items. Shredded chicken is presumably getting axed because there's really no need for two different chicken options on a streamlined menu. As for the Mexican Pizza, which has been a pillar of the menu for years, Taco Bell says it's being replaced with the return of the #8 combo: 3 Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme with a large drink. This is not an even trade…."

I ate at Taco Bell a couple of years ago. It was the only restaurant that we could walk to from the film festival we were attending. They had pretty good pollo verde tacos with very fresh shredded cabbage. Not good enough for me to go back, but then I do live in the San Francisco Bay Area and am a teeny bit spoiled about food. |

Never had a "Mexican Pizza", which of course is an oxymoron. They do seem to cut some favorites from time to time though, which is a shame, but they offer a lot of variety, and keeping it all straight must be a nightmare. A pity about the pico de gallo and the shredded chicken being dropped though. |

The Mexican Pizza is my favorite. I usually get one any time I go to Taco Bell. |

First the Grilled Stuffed Burrito, the the 7-layer Burrito, now the Mexican Pizza. No reason for me to go back now. |

Yea, those grilled burritos were delicious. I also miss their plain, beef burritos too. I have had them make one, which they can do, but since it is not on the regular menu they have to do al a carte pricing, so it isn't cheap. I suspect if asked nicely, they could grill the outside of the burrito for you. Might have to try that next time I go. |

A number of the Mexican places here makes a "Mexican Pizza". A lot bigger than Taco Bell, and pretty darn good ! Being mostly Italian … that is high praise ! |

I'll stick to plain olde, Italian pizzas. |
