I have finally started painting up my 40mm AWI Triguard Miniatures. I decided to start with artillery since we are in the days marking the 239th anniversary of the Siege of Yorktown.

While not Yorktown related, Triguard does sculpt a realistic Molly Pitcher figure and I've included that here.

They look really good.

Nice figures and paint job.

Molly needs to have a care, though. In more ways than one…

Her skirts are still intact, at least.

From where did you get the mauve / Polish Crimson color for the second carriage? I always find it hard to discover what carriages were really painted.

Very nice. Quick nits. British RA coat skirts were red. The RA cartridge pouches were white. Overall, nice job.

Whenever people ask what color to paint American artillery carriages, I always say "Yes".
They had so many different sources for artillery, almost anything goes.
They had captured Hessian and British artillery. (Grey blue or grey.)
They had donated French artillery. Red.
There were the occasional replacement carriages which could be painted "barn red", or just plain linseed oil. Same with guns they cast themselves.
It wasn't anything that Knox obsessed about. Neither should wargamers.

Thanks all. The second carriage is simply Vallejo Dark Red and then a highlight. I copied this from the carriages on the battlefield at Yorktown, VA. I figured whoever painted those must have saw or heard something somewhere:)

Historygamer, thank you for that link. I had a very frustrating time on the colors before I gave up and took creative license.

The French artillery color could be either red or light blue, which was the new color brought in by Gribeauval with his reforms.

I think the RA coat skirts went white in 1782 or so. Likely too late to be seen in North America.

Here is a link to an RA catridge pouch – without the brass badge it would have on it

Here is the badge that would be on the pouch
